Details

In solaris 2.7 build 2000062115 in win95 build 2000062108 Click Bookmarks->Manage Bookmarks Click File-> Quit result, whole mozilla exits, expected: only manage bookmarks exits. Click Bookmarks->Manage Bookmarks Click File->New->New Folder, result a window pop up with title "User Name" (solaris) or "prompt" (windows) but it ask for the name of the new folder. Confusing Enter: test -> nothing happens but expected a new folder (only solaris, in windows a new folder is created) Click File-> Quit result mozilla exits with error (only solaris) JavaScript error: line 0: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIRDFDataSource.DoCommand]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome: //communicator/content/bookmarks/bookmarks.js :: doContextCmd :: line 1080" data: no] Related to bug 40609 and maybe to 41790
You should use the "close" menu-item instead if you want to close only a window. Quit quits all. One can argue about where the "close" item is placed however. In all previous *nix version of Netscape have had "close" placed immediately above the "Quit" item, but for some reason it's now moved way further up the menu now. I didn't find it either at first - an unexpected place to look for it - the intuitive association with the "quit"-item breaks that way. BTW: For an overview of some discussion about why it's called "quit" and not "exit" see bug 4908 This bug as such is invalid - marking dup of 39057 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 39057 ***
