RE: April 1 Seamonkey build on Win_nt 4.0 Hardware: HP x86, family 6, 233 MHZ and 32 MB Descriptions: Although there is discussions going on that seamonkey crashes on Apr. 1 because it cannot find the plugins directory. I manage to startup seamonkey with and without creating a plugin directory in the apprunner directory. However, the mail 3 pane window does not load the correct information in the folder pane, thread pane and message pane. 1. Run apprunner.exe 2. Select Messenger from the Tools menu to open message center Actual result: In the message center, this is how it looks: a. The menu area shows six icons with an image called"Carneige Mellon". Each icon is labelled as: Get Spam, Create New Spam, Reply to Spam, Forward Spam, Delete Spam b: In the Folder pane, a background image is displayed over-shadowed the mail folders. I click on the Inbox folder, it does not display threads in the thread pane c. Instead, a web page is displayed in the thread pane. It is a MIT Image. d. The message pane displays a page about Boston College. Expected result: The three pane window with Folder pane, Thread pane and Message pane should be displayed. And the menu bar and Tool bar area should show the correct mail message center icons and labels.
RE: seamonkey win32 build, this problem still exists.
It seems to be a good April 1st joke. But as it use icons and image from a server, you cannot really use it off line now!

(from Lisa) I don't see UC Berkeley in the images. If you aren't going to fix this, can you add images for Cal in? Plus, I don't like Spam; perhaps, you should put some Ham in there for Scottip. Should this bug be reassigned to mscott? Or whomever thought of this clever April Fool's joke.
What do you mean April Fools joke? Haven't you seen the latest UI specs? I don't understand Lisa's desire to pollute such a fine product with anything relating to Cal.
Finally someone noticed our april fool's hack!!!! Yes!!!! I mean...wait...I agree with Scott. Check out the latest UI Specs. I heard a rumor that Cal and Stanford clash from a UI point of view...I'm not sure what to do about this....
I have no relationship to Cal, whatsoever. But, since there are images of all the good schools in there, I thought you should add Cal too. (Poor Fenella spent lots of time trying to describe what she was seeing....)
Exactly my point. We only want to put images of good schools in there.
The Cal image is a must have feature. It is supposed to be displayed everytime SmartBrowsing is used. Stanford is on the wish list. It images are to be displayed when moving messages to the trash folder.
Will this bug hold up m4? I need to let hoffman know ASAP.
I still don't see the bug here...Although I'm a bit troubled by the attention the Boston college start page is getting over the MIT logo. I don't want BC collecting page hits and eyeball hours when they could be going to MIT...
Yes, I was greatly surprised by the attention Boston College is drawing. Perhaps the bug is that there's not enough Stanford stuff. I can imagine putting that picture of the Quad I found in the thread pane, the Stanford home page in the message pane, and pictures of the men's basketball team on the buttons. That seems like the ideal UI to me. I'm willing to make the changes if that's what we decide is best.

Seth just took out the april fool's special....It should no longer be in the builds as of April 6th (it is still in today's builds). =( I'm going to mark this bug as fixed and let Lisa verify it. Although I know it will be hard for her to resist filing a new bug on the fact that the product will no longer support the MIT logo....I'm sure we'll all get by without Cal/Stanford/CMU and BC. But without the MIT logo...the app may not have as good a reputation =).....
Personally, I think removing this is a horrible mistake and will have serious ramifications which will only become apparent as time goes on. I think we should have at least five 2 hour meetings with a representative from each college before we make such an important decision.
Good thing April 1 only comes once a year! I don't think I can stand going to five 2-hour meetings just to come to a conclusion about something!
I just backed out the april fools joke. since UCSB wasn't represented, I had no problems doing that.
