Details

The summary says it all - even at launch, the status bar says that you're viewing pages over a secure connection when in fact you aren't.
Assignee: don → law
Component: Apprunner → XPApps
OS: Windows NT → All
Priority: P3 → P2
Hardware: PC → All
Target Milestone: M4
Re-assigned to law@netscape.com, set target milestone to M4, changed component to XPApps, prioirty to P2, and platform and OS to All. Bill, should we just turn remove the icon for now until we get real security?

I think Eric broke this when he switched to the new box stuff. So I'm reassigning this to him. In the old days, the "secure connection" box appeared only when you were on a secure page (never, given that we have no SSL), OR, when you clicked on the notification component area of the status bar (that was just to be able to test that the dynamic nature of the status bar worked). It should be an easy matter to hide the "secure connection" box once again. I'd fix this myself except for the fact that I haven't got a build to work since last week.
I think we should fix this in m4.
