message area doesn't resize to size of pane

If I make my own 3panemail.html file so that I can get a mail layout with no
folder pane, small thread pane, and the message pane is big enough to read a
real message, the message area doesn't resize to fit the message pane -- it
leaves blank space at the bottom of the screen, yet is so wide that I have to
scroll the pane sideways to see the vertical scrollbar for the message I'm
trying to read.
There needs to be a way to resize or disable the panes and to get the message to
fit in the available space of the message pane.

Using the M4 build from 4/14/99, 1999-04-14-12-M4, it appears to be a problem in
Win32 since I viewed similar behavior on an NT4.0 system.

M6 since if there's an XPFE limitation here, we should address it ASAP.

The problem on my Win95 box running nightly (buildID:1999051708) is only that
the message pane does not resize properly when the height is changed, however
the pane is sized correctly for the initial size.
This problem is seen withoput changes to the setup, and can be viewed on the
normal netscape mail start page

Additional problem:
when the message windows is resized the message pane jump back to a height of
half the windows height

I noticed the change to M9 without any accompanying comment or note as to who
changed it; it's your bug to dispose of as you see fit, of course, but this is
one of the biggest bugs stopping me from playing around with mozilla mail
(second to the frame-resizing problems), since I can't read mail reasonably if I
can only see a few lines of the message at a time. If you want more eyeballs on
mozilla mail, it would really help to fix this bug.
Phil, can you find a person to handle this one. I don't have time to dig into
this one now.

you know, I think I fixed this a while back when I changed the message pane
layout... marking WORKSFORME.
I'm opening a seperate bug to make the message pane area scroll completely,
headers and body at the same time.
