yesterday I upgraded the firmeware on my macbook pro.
now firefox menu bar and warning bar and sometimes content in webpages looks pretty ugly... anyone seen reports of this?
here is what it looks like

firefox seems to be the only app affected. others look ok.
I tried to set display resolutions to a variety of sizes but that doesn't seem to make the problem go away.

Have you restarted the MBP *after* this happened ?
I had something similar shortly after the 10.5.5 upgrade on one iMac (aluminium Intel). Not with Firefox, but with Preview.app. I restarted the machine again, and haven't repro'ed the issue anymore.
Iirc, there where a few reports on the Apple forums about similar problems on a variety of machines. Same 'fix' seemed to have cured it.

Clearing the various Mac caches fixes a lot of strange font and gfx issues. The easiest way to do this is to simply restart the Mac in safe mode, then reboot again. (To start in safe mode, hold down SHIFT after you hear the startup chime)
