with a build from today (around 2am PDT), I was testing some changes from a contributor who doesn't have checkin privileges. I found out the hard way that I crash if the entity isn't found in the overlay's dtd. :-( I now have the missing dtd changes and all is well; still we shouldn't crash if an entity can't be found...
this may be a duplicate of an older bug; this is a regression

Yes, I think I also saw this (John: I'm starting to think that problem I had may have been a missing entity somewhere along the line, although I never found it). This is very bad.
