User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; fr; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: 2.0.0.19, 3.0b1 Zimbra has a special area in the folders panel where you have different folders for each tags with the specific color chosen by the user. When you click on it, you see all the messages you tagged from all the different folders you have. It would be great to have that possibility in Thunderbird 2 or 3. (Note that the example has french tags because that is my native language but this is only for example purposes.) Reproducible: Always Bassically it would be to add a Tag folder or icon like the trash or sent icon which has the list of all your tags where when you click on a specified tag, all the messages you tagged appears in the e-mails list which let's you find fast urgent e-mails to take care of or done e-mails etc...
Saved Search Folder is the first step for such feature(so it's internally called "Virtual Folder"), and is already available. You can already see all the messages you tagged from all the different folders you have, by next manual operation. 1. Create "Search Folder"(Virtual Folder) for each tag or each set of tags. 2. Choose all mail folders you want to search. 3. Add condition(s) of "Tags contains ..." If you have very many mail folders, it's hard to choose mail folders. If you have very many tags, you have to create many "Search Folder"s. If you frequently add/delete/rename mail folders, or if you frequently add/delete/rename tags, maintenance of folder property of many "Search Folders"s will be very tough work. So there is usability problem in above workaround. But, if "not so many mail folders" and "not so many tags", I think above workaround is practically usable.

Zimbra has this feature and I like it very much. I don't need to configure a search for each and every Tag I use. I thought Thunderbird could also have that feature available.
Wayne, do we have a canonical RFE for this feature? Dupes are scattered...
