follow the link called 'enter' on the given url. normally, a login dialog should appear and you are taken to your portfolio, but nothing happens (the browser doesn't crash, you can go back to the url by pressing the back button).
Severity: normal → major
I'm unable to login to any sites that pop up username/password dialogues. Steve, is this your problem or an XPFE problem? Upping the severity to major.
Checked in several in the past few days which fixed this. The symptom now is that you will automatically go to the authentication-failure page when you press "enter" on this page. That's because dialogs are not yet implemented so how can we give you an authentication dialog. If you want to live on the cutting edge, then insert the following line into your preferences file: user_pref("wallet.useDialogs", true); This will cause your dialogs to come out as queries in the console window. If you can live with that for the time being, then you can actually get authenticated.

verified. I'm now logging into sites like a madman. :-) Hey, e9026662, please check if you can now log into this site once you have added the pref.
added the preference to 'prefs50.js', but still cannot log in; nothing happens on the console window; used mozilla m4;
That's your problem -- you are using Mozilla M4. If you'll note in my comment of April 19 I said "Checked in several in the past few days which fixed this." These fixes are post-M4. The major problem in M4 is that someone accidentally put in some ifdefs to turn off authentication in mkaccess.c and then forgot to remove them before checking the file in.
downloaded version 20/4/99 today works fine, thank you
