to reproduce this, load a site that you know will take a long time loading (i used my netscape because we currently have trouble loading that site). for as long as the page is being loaded, if you select text in the location control, pressing delete does nothing. expected result is that the text is deleted.

I have not been able to reproduce this on any platform with the 1999041508 builds. I'm resolving WFM. cpratt, give it another look and reopen if you are still seeing this otherwise, I'll verify it as WFM.

I'm still able to reproduce this. I tried just now using the April 15 build under NT 4 and the site at http://www.un.md/ - after the host was contact but before the page had started or finished loading, selecting text in the URL control and pressing Delete several times had no effect. So, I'm reopening the bug.

bozo alert! this is probably a mistake on the reporter's part - the Delete key is not working on Windows builds. claudius, could you please verify that this isn't a bug? (using the 19990430008 build under NT, I can delete selected text with the Backspace key, but not with the Delete key - I think this is the problem here. There exists a bug that deals with that issue.)
