there are 6 different interfaces. internally we really only use nsIMicrosummaryService, and the observer and notification interfaces. we could probably get rid of nsIMicrosummary, nsIMicrosummarySet and nsIMicrosummaryGenerator, replacing them with a couple of apis off of nsIMicrosummaryService. might be possible to do just about everything in a module actually, if we really want to make some change.

If interested in supporting Microsummaries in your add-on, you're free to use our old microsummaries code and to search all previously open bugs by looking for [microsummaries-feature-removal] in the status whiteboard field.
