I'm seeing this in 2000090110 build on WinNT 4.0 SP4. Marking regression,
nominating nsbeta3.

Nav triage team: [nsbeta3+] But it's not top priority because if you've got
enough profiles to need to scroll, you can probably figure out a workaround.
Priority: P3 → P2

Nav triage team: P.S. We're thinking this is a simple fix. If we're wrong,
please remove the [nsbeta3+]; then re-nominate so we can look at it again.
Dupe Bug 51387 was nominated nsbeta3 due to the appearance of data loss.
[...] "This makes me think that Netscape lost several of my profiles because
there is no way to see them."

PDT thinks this is more of a tester issue that an end user issue.
Is there *any* work-around? Can the arrow keys get you to the correct profile?
If there is *ANY* workaround (short of hand editing the profile list outside the
UI), please move this to P4 with the PDT's blessing.
Whiteboard: [nsbeta3+] → [nsbeta3+][PDT wants to downgrade... see comment]
Workaround: Resize the Profile manager window using the mouse OR Maximize the
Profile Manager window. Ofcourse these workarounds will be OK only if you have
certain number of profiles. If you have more (say in 100's) profiles, then you
are in trouble.
Marking P4 as per comment from Jim Roskind.
Priority: P2 → P4

tree gets no scroll bar, when it should. This is a regression. I have not
touched the FE code recently in a way that would cause this.

This needs to be fixed. It implies that prior to loading profiles, the
scrollbar stylesheet NEVER comes in. This is too serious a defect for us to
later it.
Clearing - for reconsideration.

This bug is a blocker for Shrimp++ bug http://bugscape/show_bug.cgi?id=2525.
We have no scroll bar all across shrimp (buddylist, sidebar tabs etc.) Ccing
vishy.
Comment 19•24 years ago
|
||
Yes since Shrimp does not use Profiles, the scrollbars seem to never be loaded
and it does not show in the product at all. Makes it very hard to use when using
chromeless browser windows long sidebartabs etc.

Peter - could you approve this bug for Hyatt to work on it for Shrimp?
It is important for Shrimp as we need to remove the dependence of Profile
Manager and scrollbars appearing. We do not use profile manager at all - and so
scrollbars never appear for us.
thanks, Vishy

This is ready. Ignore the first of the three patches. The last two attachments
are the true patch. Yes, try it out on Shrimp and see if it fixes your
problems.
