A freshly installed copy of Neoplanets new technology preview (with Gecko and Trident) also exhibits this behavior. So do all of the subsequent post-M4 mozilla installs, even after completely removing the previous mozilla folders. Which leads me to believe that a) it is related to Gecko or its support libraries b) it has something to do with stuff that gets installed or registered somewhere outside the mozilla folder.

german, still see this? try removing your c:\windwows\mozregristry.dat file and restart. it would be good if you could also post the console output to help pinpoint where in the start sequence your failing...

works for me now, using Chris workaround to manually remove the mozregistry.dat file.
