Personal toolbar doesn't show all bookmarks. (1) Open Bookmark manager dialog. (2) Create a new folder and set it as personal toolbar folder. (3) Put several bookmarks into it and close bookmark manager. (4) All bookmarks don't appear on Personal toolbar. Build: Win98 2000092212

can you reproduce this with a current build? What are you're exact steps? What are your exact results? I ask because I cannot currently reproduce this behavior.
Assignee: matt → ben
Yes, I can reproduce this bug with latest builds on Win95, Win98 and Linux. I described the steps to reproduce. Exact result is that only one bookmark appears on personal toolbar. If I restart Mozilla I can see all bookmarks.

NOt sure what the hell happened here. With trunk builds from 2000101608 switching the personal toolbar folder from the default is completly horked. It seems that when you switch, it's cloning the previous folder's contents and oving them over to the new one - this is very bad behavior. This would be morphing this bug a little but it's all related to the same error. The original steps to repro will show the offending behavior.

may be related to bug 41502. does this happen even if the urls for the bookmarks are different?
Oops, it's more likely that this is related to bug 56406.
Netscape Nav triage team: this is a Netscape beta stopper. Possible dupe of another bug?

ugh. Claudius, are there still problems related to setting a folder as the personal toolbar? (other than the delayed toolbar updates)
WFM on 2001060504 on Win2K. Reporter, are you still seeing this bug on a recent build?

So is this bug about the following? import bookmarks into a new profile from previous profile.. and you have 1 or more copies of 'personal toolbar folder' folder.. if you delete the one from the current profile leaving the one from the imported bookmarks.. mozilla's personal toolbar doesn't use the 'imported' - personal toolbar folder as the content to display on the personal toolbar.

this is kinda similar to bug 56406 about importing them.. and changes are not reflected until restart.

Win98 Build ID 2002091014: More specifically, I imported Netscape 4.7 bookmarks. After setting the personal toolbar folder, I did not have to restart to have the correct toolbar appear. However, no more than 24 bookmarks can be viewed at all in any one toolbar folder. For example, if I have 30 bookmarks in a toolbar folder, I have no way of getting to the 30th bookmark via the toolbar. Another words, the little arrow at the bottom of the list that comes down when you select a toolbar folder does not work. There is basically no scrolling beyond what is immediately viewable within a toolbar folder.
Problem Still Exists in Mozilla 1.2.1 Javascript Console Report: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... I'm getting the same error in Mozilla 1.2.1. "Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... Both FireFox and Mozilla associated with version 1.8.a.5 (mac version for me) clicking on personal toolbar does not drop down a list of URL's Placed in Personal ToolBar.
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
I don't see this with SeaMonkey 1.0beta. Mark WFM?
Still no problems with SM 1.0.5 or the current SM 1.1 -> WFM.
