win32 commercial seamonkey build 2000-092711-mn6 installed on P500 Win98
linux commercial seamonkey build 2000-092710-mn6 installed on P200 RedHat 6.2
macos commercial seamonkey build 2000-092711-mn6 installed on G3/400 OS 9.04
Overview Description:
Any custom background color assigned in a mail html editor is lost when you
save the the message as a draft or template. This occurs on new mail messages
and existing "American Greeting" templates, specifically menos and flowers.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Start a new html mail message
2) Add some text in the message body
3) Select the format menu and choose "Page Colors and Background..."
4) Click on the "Use custom color" radio button
5) Select a background color from the default
6) Click OK
The background color should be changed
7) Save the message as Template or Draft
8) View the message or edit the message as new
The message has lost the background color.
Actual Results:
The background color is lost.
Expected Results:
The background color should be perserved.
Additional Information:
Under page composer, it crashes when I tried to assign the background color on
mac.
fyi,
I tested this in page composer and could not reproduce this behavior on win32,
linux, and macos on branch build. It looks like a mail only bug.

triaging to mime. I'm assuming mime is the one who generates the message
contents that get saved to disk when saving to a template or draft. Rich, feel
free to correct me if I'm wrong.
(I'd also future this one for a later release).

Duplicate of bug 40546.
The problem isn't with saving to disk. I checked the message source and the
html is still correct eg <body bgcolor="#00ff00" ... but still displays white.
Problem is with viewing/editing a received or saved message.
