On build 2000-09-29-09-MN6, I read about 111 strips on
www.astoundingspacethrills.com which added up to less than 100MB. I minimized
the window and possibly even went to another web page.
Yet, mozilla kept downloading images, at the rate of 200MB/hour. That went on
for 3 hours until I closed mozilla and noticed that it had done 630MB of
incoming traffic (verified by ZoneAlarm). The traffic was also verified by
UIUC's not-so-friendly network security officers, who promptly shut down my dorm
port.
So, I can not verify this bug without getting shut down, but I'm pretty sure
this behaviour is atypical. I don't think the web page had autorefresh on, and
even if it did, that does not sum to 200MB/hour.

Andrew, can you reproduce the problem with a more recent build?
I just tried it with Linux trunk build 2000103108 and the page loads fine....
Also, do you have HTTP pipelining on? Try loading the page with pipelining on
and off and see if one setting or the other leads to the behavior you
describe.... (Pipelining is a pref under Debug -> Networking)

Unable to reproduce with 110104 mozilla trunk build on NT. Page loads normally.
