Details
* TITLE/SUMMARY
Scrollbar disappears if browser window resized to a width less than that of the
Web/Mail/Chat/etc toolbar
* STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0) Launch Apprunner
1) Reduce the width of the browser window to the point in which the bottommost
toolbar (Web/Mail/Chat/DayPlanner/etc) can no longer become any shorter.
* RESULT
- What happened
The vertical scroll bar (along with all the other rightmost-UI objects in
Seamonkey) disappear, or at least, can no longer fit in the resized window.)
- What was expected
Behavior similar to Navigator 4.x; the vertical scrollbar should never be
inaccessible to the user, irregardless of the window's width.
* REGRESSION
- Occurs On
Win32 Apprunner (4.26.99 AM optimized build [NT 4, Service Pack 3])
Linux Apprunner (4.26.99 PM optimized build)
Mac OS Apprunner (4.26.99 PM optimized build)
- Doesn't Occur On
Win32 Communicator 4.5 (RTM)
* CONFIGURATIONS TESTED
- [Mac] Power Mac 8500/120 (233 Mhz 604e), 64 MB RAM (VM on; 1 MB of VM used),
1024x768 (Thousands of Colors), Mac OS 8.5.1
- [Win32] Vectra VL (233 Mhz P2), 96 MB RAM, 800x600 (True Color), NT 4.0 SP3.
- [Linux] Vectra VL (266 Mhz P2), 96 MB RAM.

[QA Assigning to self. Unsure if this is XPToolkit, so assigning to Apprunner]
toolkit although it might be my responsibility to limit the minimum size of the
window.

Verified fixed using 5.19.99 builds; tried frame and non-frame pages, and a wide
variety of dimensions.
Thanks!
in M8, on win32 w95 4.00.950B, this bug appears.
I have no experience with previous builds.
hope this bug-reporting is right.

You can no longer lose the right scrollbar but you can lose the bottom
scrollbars if you make it too small. This is because the iframe refuses to get
smaller than the height of the grippy for the side bar. You can fix this by not
using a iframe for the side bar and using the newly created splitter.

The sidebar uses the new splitter and an overlay instead of an iframe. The
horizontal scrollbar always shows, but the vertical scrollbar gets lost if the
window is more narrow than the start of the combobox.

Doesn't appear to be fixed in any of the 1999092208 builds. Will check again on
tomorrow's builds, and re-open if still broken.

Please stop reopening this. You can squeeze the main browser window very very
small and you don't lose the scrollbars. At some point the scroll arrows won't
even fit. But at some point we just need to close this but. It works fine try it
out.

It's one of QA's responsibilities to re-open bugs that were marked as fixed,
but were in fact unfixed. If you have any issues with our team's
responsibilities, please touch base with Jan Leger.

This is technically fixed using the 1999102109 (Mac OS), 1999102208 (Win32) and
1999102208 builds, and verifying it as such.
Issues remain on both Linux and Mac OS involving resizing the window to a small
_height_. I'm going to break these into separate bugs.
