(Whiteboard: who owns this issue?)

build id: 1999042608 reproduced on: windows nt if you load the yahoo! page, you should notice that the cursor is always a hand (unless it's in the Search! control). clicking the cursor anywhere on the page selects the nearest link. this is bad. expected result: if the cursor is not over something selectable (a link or button), it should just be the default pointer / arrow and not do anything when clicked.

why is this assigned to me? I will reverify buy i need to know who to pawn cursor shapes onto...
it's not just the shape of the cursor... if it isn't over a link, clicking the mouse button WILL select a link. still happens on the 1999043008 build under NT for me.
Target Milestone: M7
ok claudius i need you to find out who to talk to about this i suggest tom pixley as a start. This really isnt my bug and I dont have the first clue how to fix it. I am not just bouncing this to someone else to clear my list :) either way i am pretty sure this will be m7 soonest
well if it's not you, XPApps, or XPToolkit, I surely don't know. I'm cc'ing tom in hopes that he can at least shed some light on the issue or name the next victim.

forgot to reassign hehe. steve this is a bug that doesnt belong to us and tom isnt getting it i guess. let me know if you want me to chase this down i would be happy to.
Yeah, I sometimes miss cc messages. Anyway, this bug is pretty and I don't think its valid anymore. I know the cursor works fine for me on Yahoo on my NT box. I'd suggest closing it.
