You need to have caret browsing (F7) enabled to see this bug.
To reproduce:
- Focus the search box, the "Search all add-ons" text disappears.
- The click on something else.
Expected result:
- The "Search all add-ons" text reappears again, the caret is gone.
Actual result:
- The "Search all add-ons" text reappears, but the caret is still there.

Martijn, this works for me with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a5pre) Gecko/20100511 Minefield/3.7a5pre GTB7.1 ID:20100511040317
Which build are you using?

Seems to work for me too.
That's just a normal XUL textbox with type="search". Its possible that that binding has never been used in content (with caret browsing enabled) before. Dao - got any ideas?

The caret actually remains in ordinary input fields as well (on this page, for instance) if you tab into them and then click somewhere else. This seems to be a generic problem, i.e. it should be moved to some core component.
