regression: Selecting News from the Demo menu no longer works 1999050408 Linux and Win32 builds News not implemented on Mac builds 1) Messenger. Message in Inbox selected 2) Demo | Show News Article 3) Nothing happens. The news article doesn't show up. This appears to have regressed. In the 1999050317 Win32 build, selecting Show News Article displays a mozilla.org message about the smoketest.

hmmm. this works for me on both win32 and linux (my nighlty build, not the official builds, mind you.) I'm going to talk to esther and see if she can get it to happen on my builds.

This is not as urgent any more. I found out from Jan that the builds dated 5/4 are M6 builds, not M5 branch. The latest M5 builds are dated 5/3 evenings. I'm correcting this target milestone to M6 then. Note: Seth, Ninoschka was also able to reproduce this problem on the 5/4 official builds.

I've found the problem and I'm working on a fix for m6.

RE: linux build (1999-05-06-12-m6) I do not see the Demo button. I see Load News instead, click on it, no response.

this bug covers both the "Load News" button and "Demo | Show News Article 1" menu item. Both are currently broken, unless news.mozilla.org is one of the news servers in your prefs. I'm working on it.

I re-started apprunner, I can now see the menu Demo. I don't know what happened. But sorry for the confusion.

the demo menu and the "load news" button are gone, so marking this bug invalid. To test news, you'll have to use the application.
