Details
The Preference UI (Edit|Preferences) crashes on my box as soon as I hit either
the OK or CANCEL buttons, regardless of whether I've made any changes at all.
It appears as though a NULL pointer is being dereferenced, because the fault is
at 0x00000000.

When did you check your build out? This should be fixed as of the afternoon of
5/5.
I was using the M5 release... I'll check the newest development tree out and
try it

This is a code bug, not a design bug. Reassign it to Don or his team.

yep, this is fixed in postM5 builds.
Bulk move of all Pref UI component bugs to new Preferences component. Pref UI
component will be deleted.
