It is handy how IE opens up Notepad. It would be nice if Mozilla had its own
version of Notepad (that accepted Unix and Dos text formats). When you open up
HTML source, it would open up this editor.

use File|Edit Page and in COmposer make sure you have the Edit Mode Toolbar on
(View|Toolbars|Edit Mode Toolbar) and you can edit the source in HTML Source view.

I still think there should be a seperate text editor for this. Composer is not
efficient for viewing every source, but text editing abilities would be
positive.

The seperate text editor bug was filed so long ago I can't even remember. This
is a duplicate of bug 8589
