Actually the set flags command is sent before the append command. Couldn't we
just update the "Status" column right after the set flags command. The append
command could take very long time to succed.
How is the Status column updated?
Yes, he's right the \answered flag is set on the replied-to message before the sent message is appended to Sent mailbox. But I'm not sure what the actual bug is here. Maybe he is saying that the replied-to "back-arrow" icon is not visible on the original message until the message is sent and appended to Sent folder which might take a while on a slow network? I'm not aware of complaints about this or similar bugs being reported.
