According to the current schedule it looks like drag & drop is now set for M12 or so. Akkana--please fix the schedule and bug if you disagree.

moving this out to m19, will move in closer once the d&d infrastructure is in place.

Kathy has volunteered to take this bug (at least tentatively), since she works on a platform where the backend might actually be implemented sometime soon. ;-)

I think this mostly works. There may be a few small issues that pop up but those should probably be filed as separate bugs. note to QA: if copy/paste is broken within the editor, drag and drop probably will also be broken.

verified in 6/9 build.

Reopening. We can no longer drag a file from the file system. I'm using 2000071920 nightly build on Windows 2000. Adding regression keyword since M16 used to work well.

resolving this bug as fixed; in my Mac build from today, I can drag a file from the OS into a browser window (I tried a *.txt file, a *.html file, and an alias to a *.gif). If there is a problem on Windows 2000, it should be filed as a separate bug since D&D does indeed work on some platforms.
