Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open some tabs, include an empty one 2. switch to panorama 3. Actual Results: Black stripes on the right or on the bottom of the tab preview image. Expected Results: No black stripes.

In local build, build from 653ad2c5782e : fails build from a5092e4ae324 : works I am not sure but maybe Bug 624101 triggered Bug bug 594958.

This is indeed bug 594958, but, as you say, the landing of 624101 made it black instead of gray.
