When you customize the toolbars to place a bookmarks button anywhere, and you have the bookmarks toolbar enabled, the customized location of the bookmarks button is ignored until the bookmarks toolbar is hidden. This makes the bookmarks button seem to appear and disappear when showing and hiding the bookmarks toolbar, or when customizing. In the customization mode the button is visible and movable, but when exiting that mode the button disappears. This is a very confusing behavior to users who may not realize that the button is vanishing because of the toolbar's presence. Also, it is inconsistent behavior in that this is the only button that can't be customized, and it only occurs with the bookmarks toolbar visible. Steps to repro: Set bookmarks toolbar to visible. Customize the toolbar and place a bookmarks button anywhere. Really! > </weekend update> hi. i was having the same issue as explained here, then discovered the button i was trying to edit/move was the bookmarks toolbar button this can move either left side or right side of the toolbar and remains there once hit done, as it is part of the toolbar when you hide the toolbar or show show the toolbar you are doing the same with the button, i dragged this to the left side as the right side is too far along imho, also go to customise and there is another bookmarks button drag this to were you want it and it should not dissapear or move when you hide the toolbar, hope this helps
