4.x would put the group on the default news server. we don't have default news servers yet. even when we do, this would be a nice feature. we could allow the user to pick a news server, or create a new one, or cancel. obviously, the design still needs to be done. the current behaviour is: 1) use the first news server FindServer() returns. if there are none 2) use "news", and pop up the account wizard. the user can change the hostname in the account wizard.

This is NOT a duplicate of bug #224335. This bug refers to the situation when the user has not yet subscribed to a newsgroup. In this case, the newsgroup does not exist in any server account. Bug #224335 refers to a problem when a user has already subscribed to a newsgroup. Selecting a link to that newsgroup does not work even though the newsgroup appears in the list of subscribed newsgroups for a server for which an account exists.
