When going to page www.computer-profis.de normally there should pop up a window with news. When using Netscape4 the layout is changed(only navigation buttons for new window are displayed). This seems to cause problems for the viewer. It doesn't pop up the window - it just displays in the normal window the one that should be in the new window. At the same time a GTK warning and error is displayed: Gtk-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GtkVBox' to `GtkLayout' Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtklayout.c: line 276 (gtk_layout_move): assertion `GTK_IS_LAYOUT (layout)' failed. The viewer even crashed twice when using the back and forward buttons, but this is not reproducible. I am using a nightly build: 1289648 May 14 23:03 viewer The app was started via run-mozilla.

Tested using 5/19 build on Tier 1 platforms (Win 95, Win 98, Win NT4.0 - Win NT5.0 not tested as was not available). Apprunner: Page loads on all tested platforms. Pop up window replaces original page, resized with remote window parameters. Viewer: Page loads on all tested platforms. Pop up window replaces original page, resized with remote window parameters. However, residual bits from the original page remain until remote window is moved.

Nisheeth -- this may be a webshell issue. Can you take a quick look? If its platform specific, syd_logan may be willing to help.

I need more information on how to replicate this bug. I went to the above page with Nav 4.6 and today's build of apprunner and the page looks exactly the same. Am I supposed to click on something to make the pop up window appear? The pop up does not appear in 4.6 or apprunner. Thanks.

In absence of feedback from the person who reported this bug, I'm setting the milestone to M15 for now. If I get more info on how to reproduce this, I'll bring the milestone in closer.

Marking this worksforme...

With the Aug 11th build, I'm not seeing the problems described by the reporter or by chrisd. The page layouts out the same way as Comm 4.6. Marking as verified works for me.
