Steps to reproduce:

Steps to reproduce (os x): 
1. click on an attachement which has no application associated
2. select open and clcik choose
3. wait for modal dialog listing applications. 
4. switch to another soft to deal with some emergency
5. switch back to thunderbird after a good period of time


Actual results:

Another modal dialog "script is unresponsive" appeared. 
it is not clickable. 

The "Choose application" modal is still responsive but doesn't close if i click on cancel or choose. 


Expected results:

Don't launch the "unresponsive script" modal dialog.
