On Windows statusbars usually (NN4.0 also) used to have "pressed-in" elements,
but mozilla used "embossed" ones. It seems to me that "pressed-in" will look
more traditional.

This is a subjective design decision, not a bug. Ben elected to make the status
bar look that way a long time ago. I'll re-assign this to him.

icon alignment issues aside (which are bugs, and should be filed), design issue.
