I need to preflight the message compose window with tempArticle.eml (not tempMessage.eml) and I need to preflight the Newsgroups: field, instead of the To: field.

I assume platform is all. Changing as such. (on a different note, reply to mail messages aren't working yet either. Should I file a bug on this even though we know it's not implemented?)
Reply/Forward plaint text of HTML mail has been implemented for M6. I have no idea it that will works too for news.

Summary: reply to news doesn't work. → reply to news uses tempMessage.eml not tempArticle.eml
Target Milestone: M7 → M6
marking m6. I can get reply to work by changing the name of the temporary file from tempArticle.eml to tempMessage.eml, since the compose code expects the file to be called tempMessage.eml. marking m6. trivial fix, seeking approval now.

So all I'm verifying here is that I can reply to the sender of a news message by clicking "reply" (not that I can send a followup article), and that the compose window contains the correct message body, right? This much is confirmed on 5_25 Windows. Will mark as verified after I test on Linux and Mac as well.
right. to check that this works, you hit reply after viewing a news message, and the body should be that of the news message you were viewing.
the fact we are using the file tempMessage.eml for reply and forward is a hack and I hope so it will go away soon! maybe in M7.
