If you don't fill any of the fields of the profile manager and just click "next" and "finish", apprunner won't start properly. The next time you run it, it just pops up the manager again instead of launching the browser as it should. Basic browser functionality does not depend on having profile information, so it should be possible to run apprunner without a profile.

In the current scenario, a profile named 'default' gets created all the time. However, for the profile wizard to not to show up we need another profile other than 'default' which user would create by entering some information in the profile wizard app. Bug #6683 is keeping track of making 'default' a real profile. Once that is done, even if user don't enter any data that profile will be treated as a real profile and user will be launched into the apprunner instead of profile wizard. So, Marking this as duplicate of Bug #6683.
