From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; 0.8) Gecko/20010221 BuildID: 2001022105 Bookmarks are not inserted as you indicated (by clicking on a certain place and set that as an insertion point). The new bookmarks is always inserted at the bottom of the main bookmark tree OR at the lowest position of the folder into which the bookmark is to be inserted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) Click the Bookmarks for <somebody> 2) Insert a new bookmark OR 1) Click into a position inside a folder 2) Insert a new bookmark Expected Results: The bookmark should be inserted imediately after the insertion point.

This bug is easiest to notice when the bookmark list is unsorted. If it's sorted, you'll need to go to the bookmarks menu in a navigator window to notice that the new bookmark is in the wrong place.

this problem is different now that bookmarks outliner has landed.. root folders have insertion issues: they are inserted in 2 above or one below (kinda like where it feels like it) to testcase you can use an older unsorted not alphabetic folder listed bookmark file. and try to alphabatize it. Insertions are in the wrong spot most of the time.
