Linux, apprunner. The "Build ID" label in the lower right-hand corner of the main browser screen says "Build ID: 1999043018". This date is hardcoded into navigator.xul, so this mechanism is completely manual and looks like a really temporary solution. We should find a way to generate this date string dynamically.

It is also hardcoded in the "View source" window (don't know the .xul or .html for that.) Don't forget to eighter update that as well, or remove build info from it.

mcafee: it's already generated dynamically at build time, so it's not "completely manual". check out mozilla/config/Makefile.in, if you set BUILD_OFFICIAL 1, it whacks in the current build number. this is still a hack with regards to the location of the build number, but it's completely automated and dynamic.
