From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.2.16 i686; en-US; 0.8.1) Gecko/20010319 BuildID: 20010311918 and before This page has a ridiculous scrolling div which moves down the page. However, the bad part is, as it reaches the end of the page, it simply expands the page... The reason this is so bad is becuase the amount of system resources it begins to consume is incredible. If you're a slow reader, and just ignore the add, and you want to analyse a graphic or something... once you begin to move the mouse, the system has already begun to slow down immensely. My X was using 65% of the cpu and mozilla as much of the rest of it as it could (30%+) - and all i was doing was looking at this one web page. There must be something we can do about these types of pages. Reproducible: Always
Colin, I don't see the scrolling div you describe on that page.... (cvs build from 2001-03-22 on Linux)
I don't know how you can miss it, it's either a clock or another small icon. I'm now using 2001032219 from the mozilla-installer under linux. Still there for me. It starts at the top and scrolls down to the bottom.. it takes a few seconds for it to show up, but it hovers ontop of all the content, it's basically impossible to miss
Colin, I don't see it either. I've left the page open for 8 minutes and no change to my resource usage. I don't see the page expansion either. All I get is the lottery table, which loads just fine. Can you try again with a new build? build 2001032908 Linux-Mandrake 7.2 w/freq (2.2.17)
Ok, I don't see it under Windows... however I still see it under the 20010329 build for Slackware Linux 7.0 using fvwm2. No gnome, no kde, just fvwm2 on X. This is such a weird one... I'm not crazy I swear, it's there! :)
Colin, this still happening with the latest nightlies?
I'm not under linux till monday... will test then. (Doesn't happen on windows right now though)
seems to not be doing it anymore marking worksforme
