User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0 Build ID: 20120314195616 Steps to reproduce: Visit this page: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/12.0a2/auroranotes/ Ctrl+F search for "scroll" The result is a white box with light green lettering and a grey text-shadow. If you change to a different tab and then go back, the resulting white text in blue box is dramatically easier to read.

There is another behaviour here : 1. double click on "firefox" in the first change list. Its rendering is quite clear, and easy to read. 2. Now press "ctrl+f" . This will open the search box, with the currently selected word highlighted. 3. Notice that the rendering now is quite bad, unreadable. Also, this rendering is different from reported in comment 0 .
This is not something we can fix in a realistic timeframe with the resources we have to work on this part of Gecko. Note that a new find-in-page visualization is being readied in bug 1291278, which will fix this issue.
