All messages are synchronized locally regardless age. Actual results: Sometimes new messages get corrupted. Same bug as https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=531033 Folder properties / Repair folder does the trick but it also downloads all the messages. Also deleting and restoring message on Gmail web interface solves the problem. Unfortunately this issue can't be reproduced it just happens from time to time. Expected results: Well, new message shouldn't be corrupted but nevertheless it would be great to have a function that force Thunderbird to download again a selected message so the corrupted one can be overwritten.

Well, it is not something that occurs everyday but so far I haven't met this problem.

Hi Wayne, Unfortunately I have this issue again with my Gmail mailbox. A message with images as inline attachments got corrupted. After I moved it to another folder (Trash) via Gmail web interface, message was displayed properly in Thunderbird 15.0.1.

Wayne, I'll set up a test system in virtualbox on the weekend. I don't want to mess with my current thunderbird, bc I use one of profiles for work.

Corruption: Thunderbird doesn't display from, to, subject etc. anything from the header at all and Message Pane shows garbage instead of text and attachment. This issue occurs when a message has attachment. Viewing source shows that header can be find later in the source, but the file starts with a part of the attachment. I'm sure others or me attached a sample earlier (not necessarily in this very bug report), but I can't find it now. This issue is not reproducible (at least not by me) and it affected messages sent from gmail and other accounts, via web interface or Outlook if I'm not mistaken. Operation: "clicked newly arrived mail" Similarity: Bug 756340, difference: not just message pane doesn't show header info, but the fields in message list are empty, too. Also, there's no sign of the attachment.
