From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; 0.8.1) Gecko/20010316
BuildID: 2001031604
the URL above contains a map of the USA, which is a client
side imagemap, but clicking on any of the states does nothing!
the imagemap works if i try it with netscape 4.76. perhaps
this is bad HTML on their part? if so, is there a site that i
can use that will validate their HTML?
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start mozilla
2. visit URL above
3. try clicking on any of the state links
Actual Results: nothing happens!
Expected Results: i am supposed to get a new window with state related info.

i think the browser sniffing js is bad, it does not go over a mozilla/4 useragent...

From Jacek Piskozub's comments in bug 87050, it looks like this might be a valid
bug in the browser (not an evangelism bug). Removing the filename from the
USEMAP attribute makes the image map work.

Of course this is not evangelism. IMG USEMAP is a URI and there is nor reason
why it should not point to itself (to the file it is an element of).
Moving to Parser element.
Component: English: US → Parser
OS: Windows 98 → All
Product: Tech Evangelism → Browser
Hardware: PC → All
Version: unspecified → other
bug 1882 tracks the mozilla implementation.
given that some browsers don't support this and that the site can change itself
to support more browsers, i'm requesting that evangelism ask the site to make
the trivial change.

Timeless: True, but this is still a valid Mozilla bug. IMG USEMAP can be any
correct URI and the line is therefore good HTML 4.01. I order not to be
misanderstood I'll add that the page has a zyllion HTML errors, but this is not
one of them.
