currently openPreferences for in-content preferences does not do anything with extraArgs, which the current preferences use to go to a specific tab in the advanced pane

I think this has been fixed by http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/diff/a3f771caf25d/browser/base/content/utilityOverlay.js in bug 754344.
