Build: 04-12 Win32 trunk / Win2k-Simplified Chinese. Go the URL above, the image is over on the top of some Characters(See attached screenshot). It not reproduce on 04-06 trunk build though.
The overwrap obect is a plug-in (Flush) not an image. I am not sure if this is really an i18n problem. ylong, could you try to replace the Chinese text to English and see if still reproducible?
I changed the encoding to iso-8859-1, then the text string was not covered by the flush(plug-in) file. - I don't know how should I keep the flush and just replace the text. Btw, I didn't see it on IE and N4.7.

Summary: Overwrapped on image/Simp. Chinese page → Overwrapped on Flush/Simp. Chinese page
It is interesting that the TABLE warp around the flush said TABLE width="292" But both the <EMBED> and <OBJECT. said width="360" <TABLE width="292" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align= "left"> <TR> <TD><OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/ swflash.cab#version=4,0,2,0" width="360" height="300"> <PARAM name=movie value="/zh_cn/photos/heka1.swf"> <PARAM name=quality value=high> <EMBED src="/zh_cn/photos/heka1.swf" quality=high pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/ index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="360" height="300"> </EMBED> </OBJECT></TD> </TR> </TABLE>
I think the problem is the inconsistent width parameter between embed and table. mark this bug as table component.

karnaze- I am not sure this is an table problem or a plugin problem. What should the layout do when the table width is smaller than the contained object width? Should the contained object be clipped? or should the table increase it's width?
Attached file real test case (deleted) —
please ignore the 2nd attachement dated "04/17/01 11:55". Take a look at 04/17/01 12:02. The two table there are exactly the same except one use image one use embed. Both of the are nested table. Both the inner table have width=100 and both the image and the embed tag have width=360 Notice in 4.x, both table show the first td as width = 360. But in 6.x, the second table show the first td as width = 100 and the embed draw 360. So the text in the second paragraph got clipped. Notice this is a real bug in the real world (see the origional url http:// news.china.com/zh_cn/domestic/945/20010412/10008022.html ) The simplified English test case is create to show that this bug is not an i18n issue bug a issue mixed between table and plugin. I think this is an compatability issue. add momoi to the cc list.
Actually, if you just go: http://www.china.com, you will see this flush plug-in problem which doesn't happened on IE.
