People

(Reporter: alexeyc2003, Assigned: mpt)

Details

OS: Win2K Build: 2001041604 Skin: both Classic and Modern Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Bookmarks sidebar. 2. Right click inside "Add... Manage" toolbar Actual results: A context menu pops up. Expected results: Nothing happends.
reporter: please argue this somewhere (i'd recommend a newsgroup, but this bug will suffice). Do you have a serious aversion to context menus? [if so, you're in no position to dictate policy.]

Oh, Timeless, don't be so objectionable. When did Alexey ever `dictate' anything? Sheesh. Mozilla users are quite entitled to report problems in Bugzilla, and UI problems are no exception. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 61304 ***

The sidebars acting as frames is definately an issue. But the Bookmarks sidebar is done quite neatly, with custom context menus where they should be and with none where they shouldn't, except for toolbar area. I got an impression that toolbar is a relatively new addition there, and that is why this has been overlooked. In my opinion that would probably be the mostly used sidebar of all. And since a workaround for bug 61304 has been done for most part of the Bookmarks sidebar, I thought I would file a bug for this little overlook. I guess a better wording would be "No workaround for bug 61304 in toolbar of bookmarks sidebar." Since workaround (in form of empty custom context menus) has already been done for most of this sidebar, I thought fixing this would be trivial.
reporter: sorry i misread step 2
is this a dup? Doesn't look quite right to me.
Well, the toolbar doesn't have a shortcut menu now, anyway.
