Chris, I don't see this in plaintext widgets, so I assume it's only full-fledged
editors you are talking about.

pulling back some bugs which may be fixed by the whitespace work.

this may be a silly question, but on first new blank window launch, there's
already a <br> in there....
so why should the br get deleted after doing the two steps mentioned(return
followed by backspace) ???

assuming this was fixed by my ws landing, because now I can't reproduce it.
