I already have an account at gila.mozilla.org, to upload files on the moz.org
web server (user: ciopz%iname.com).
Since I often have the opportunity to access the net from a "promisque"
environment (my Univ account), I'd like to have my public SSH key uploaded on
gila.mozilla.org to have an higher level of security.

Steve Brown is the new technical lead to mozilla.org issues. I'm stepping to
background and dedicate my time for project management.

Since a month passed from the last comment, I'd like to know if this bug still
has a future.
Mr. Brown ? Could you add a comment?
Thanks in advance.

Well, I haven't set this up before, so I'm going by the existing accounts. I've
created the relevant "passwd" file entry, the relevant home directory with a
".ssh" subdirectory which includes your key in the "authorized_keys" file. I
think that should set it up, but I can't guarantee it. Give it a try and let me
know if it works or not, as well as errors you get, if any...
Thank you for the quick answer.
There's something not properly working :(
SSH report "Authentication failure: -1"
You talk about a "passwd" file entry, but I won't use password as
authentication. I'm just about using the public K authentication.. might be of
any help?
Also the file under .ssh, I've seen it called authorized_keys2 (note the
trailing "2") in stage.moz.org where I have a working ssh account..
Thank you for your help.

oh hmm. i'm pretty sure that gila runs an ssh1 server which doesn't
understand your dss key. If that's the case then you'll need to
also create an ssh1 key. Does your ssh client let you connect to some
servers with an ssh1 key and to others with ssh2? If not, maybe we can
change your acct on stage to use ssh1.
Steve, does gila support ssh2?

I think Dawn is right and what is on "gila" is ssh version 1 protocol only. I
can install a newer ssh daemon(and probably should do so anyway), but it will
probably have to wait until next week. If you want to wait a week, that's ok.
Otherwise, you'll have to generate ssh version 1 keys and let me install those
for you on "gila".

Stephen Brown: I think if you could set up the SSH 2 daemon, it would be the
best choice for everyone. As I wrote previously I'm not in a hurry, and until
the end of August I'm going to access gila from home, so with a reasonable
degree of security.
So if you think to set up SSH2, please let me know when it's ready. Thank you.

Mass changing IC's ticket to reflect current situation.
mozilla.org, AOL employees:
If you want IC to look at issues reported in bugzilla, please open a Helpdesk
ticket and ask it to be routed to AOL R1 Server Operations. We currently have no
way to handle comprehensive problem resolution through bugzilla. This is not a
change in the way we are supporting mozilla.org - we are still supporting you on
the level as before. IC's support is based on Helpdesk ticket system - not
bugzilla which only few hard-core people are looking at.
Also, projects are handled elsewhere - not in bugzilla. If you have projects you
need us to deliver please feel free to contact me directly.
Summa summarum: tickets -> Helpdesk
Project initiations -> RKotalampi@aol.com

This bug has been here forever :(
However, this should have gotten fixed when the servers all moved back in August
(the new server has ssh2), and your account does appear to be properly set up still.
Can you try it and see if it works now?

For lack of response from Andrea, I'm going to assume this works, and resolve
it, since everything looks like it's set up on the server now. If this is not
working for you, please reopen.
