Details

I have been unable to cut'paste from an xterm into mail compose window. I upgraded .7 (redhats version) to .9 and still it doesn't work. System athlon Iwill KA266, nvidia graphics card. KDE/Gnome window manager, redhat 7.1
does it work anywhere else in mozilla?
Update. It is working when I open a new mail message. When I forward a message, it isn't working. I Just discovered this. I should have tested it before I finished testing last time. Even stranger. I just tested stuffing from a window on the local box, and that does work. Egads, It won't stuff into the browser window also. Very wierd! The xterm -version output of the window that won't stuff into mozilla: xterm -version XFree86 3.3.3.1b(88b) I stuffed into a current xterm, and it worked. I now know a work around. I'll look into what updates I can do on the other box, for xwindows. I'm changing the severity to minor. I didn't expect that versions of xwindows would cause this, but for some reason it is. I'll play around with it some more, and see if I can get any more info.

I use 0.9.3 in Linux-Mandrake 8.0 and cut & paste is *totally* broken in this release when writing a mail. Testcase : - Open a new mail. - Type something on a few lines. - Select something. - Try to paste it with the middle button of your mouse: if you paste that word on a blank line, the text is copied, but definitely not where you expected! However, it still works if you paste the selection inside a non-blank line, that is, in the middle of a sentence for example. I can attest that this bug did not exist in 0.9.2, and I would say it is a "critical" bug, not "minor"!
