I've never been able to middle click paste preprepared stories into the body box on Kuro5hin using Mozilla. Previously I was content to load NS4 and use it, but since NS4 is a steamy pile of dog poo at CSS, less stable than Mozilla, and because Mozilla is drawing ever nearer to 1.0, I thought this should be addressed. Build ID 2001060421
Reporter, what do you mean when talking about the body box? Could you please give a more detailed description and retest it with a newer build?
On 2001062608, while I can paste a single sentence in, I cannot paste a great, big body text of an article (which I *can* paste in Netscape 4, which doesn't seem to have the same limitations on the clipboard/pasting ito forms). And when I say body text, I mean the second edit box on the page located at http://www.kuro5hin.org/?op=submitstory marrked 'extended copy' (note: you need a kuro5hin account to post ot kuro5hin).
Works for me with a linux tip build from 20010715.
Didja try pasting a 1500 word essay?

No, this is not a problem with pasting into blank lines. This is a problem with the fact that Mozilla won't len me paste a large block of text into a text entry area. I can paste chunks, but I can't paste a complete, 874 word statment into a text area! I have to do it a few pargraphs at a time. So, for some reason, Mozilla's clipboard handler is wonky in that it won't take large bit of data. NOT the pasting at EOL bug.

Probably related to "bug" 94362.
Dupe of bug 94362 which is in turn a dupe of bug 70519. Marking as such. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 70519 ***

No! This is NOT about the clipboard being clobbered. This is about the INABILITY of Mozilla to handle pasting a clipboard where the contents are greater than N characters. I'm not sure what N is yet. But I do know that while I can't past an essay like NS4 can, I am able to paste it carefully (chunk after chunk) into the box. Which isn't fun because of bug 57913 messing around the placement of paragraphs, forcing me to start again. Te restate what I have written: I cannot paste large gobs of text, which all other X clients handle fine, into Mozilla text entry boxes. This is a bug in how Mozilla handles large amount of data in the clipboard, not about Mozilla copying data (because I do not write 1500 word documents in Mozilla).

Ready for another dupe? :) See bug 56219. "Can't paste over 4000 bytes in composer" That bug is because of the true bug which is causing this problem: bug 84973. Marking dupe. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 84973 ***
