Details
(Whiteboard: need testserver)
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.1) Gecko/20010607
BuildID: 2001060703
This problem has existed in every version of Mozilla so far, but not in Netscape
6 (strange, eh?). When attempting to authenticate to a Lotus Domino web server
with session authentication turned on at the server, the browser simply reloads
the login screen again. It is impossible to authenticate.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Access a Domino application that requires logon.
2. Enter your name and password in the yellow HTML form.
3. Press the "Login" button on the form.
Actual Results: The login form will reappear, and you will not gain access to
the application.
Expected Results: The home page or other page which requires authenticated
access should appear.

sezov@jersey.net - are you able to provide us with somewhere to test this?
Gerv
just a guess, the site probably uses basic-auth

Basic atuh is always done via the dialog box. If the form is inline, then it is
HTML based.
For this problem, a submission of the HTML in the login screen will be
sufficient to understand the problem.

I wish I could provide somewhere to test it, but everything's behind a corporate firewall. I can say that I had the same problem at a previous job six months ago when I tried Mozilla with a Lotus Domino server, so it seems pretty consistent. It only happens with Lotus' Session Authentication feature. This feature uses an HTML form to pass user information to the server, which the server then keeps track of. A user will be logged off automatically after a preset period of inactivity. Perhaps you might get somebody like EApps (http://www.eapps.com) to donate a Domino R5 account temporarily if you don't have access to a Domino server? I don't have the rights / authority / network access at my job to provide a server outside the firewall.

I wonder if this is related to bug 87817?
Could you try turning off keep-alives (in the debug pref pane), and see what
happens?

This may be fixed as of 0.9.3. I tried it this week after upgrading, and it worked fine.
