User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20130323 Firefox/22.0
Build ID: 20130323031040
Steps to reproduce:
Visit http://cycloramic.com/ and watch the animation.
Actual results:
The animation flickers. It flickers using both the stable build and Nightly.
The symptoms are similar to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=791731 and the new smart cover animations flicker a lot as well http://www.apple.com/ipad/accessories/#MASKED-smartcover-blue-on-white

Hi Daniel,
Would you be able to try some older releases from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ and determine if this is a regression between two versions?

cf43df0a7095 Jeff Muizelaar — Bug 811891. Only sync decode once per image. r=joe Bug 799335 intentionally caused us to do some decoding everytime StartDecoding is called. This can be multiple times per paint which can delay tab switch substantially.

Setting prefs false helps
image.mem.decodeondraw = false
image.mem.discardable = false

OR,
Setting big number to image.mem.decode_bytes_at_a_time helps.
image.mem.decode_bytes_at_a_time = 150000

Confirmed. This helps for 19.0.2 as well, which also flickers a bit for me
Does this reproduce in the current Firefox Nightly?

I think the problem is still there.
Unfortunately I can't test the original website since it has been updated (the archive.org version does not seem to be complete).
However, https://web.archive.org/web/20130321183936/http://www.apple.com/ipad/accessories/ works and the animations flicker a lot when you drag the cover on and off (until all frames are cached).

Could you please create a minimized testcase and attach it to this bug?

Nevermind, I can reproduce this now on both my Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04 PCs. Unfortunately my efforts to make an offline testcase based on the link in comment 7 failed so we'll need to rely on the Web Archive for this.
Based on the source code it looks like this is an <img> tag within a <figure> tag with cursor:grab CSS applied to render one of 90 images.
