http://software.intel.com/en-us/blogs/2012/01/21/accessing-intel-power-gadget-20-library-in-c http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/tuning-algorithm-performance-and-energy-utilization-using-the-intel-power-gadget-api-on-mac Looks interesting. The base library doesn't appear to be open source but maybe we could still use it through com, or convince them to release the source so we could build it in our code base.
We would love to get this library hooked up on some test slaves, or install it locally and use it in profiling.
The first step would be to deploy power gadget to the talos slaves. After that we should be able to follow the steps we use for talos profiling and flip the 'power' profiler options which should pick up the library once this lands. When installing we need to make sure the dll is put into the dll search path.
