RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 476541

People

(Reporter: kris.kirby, Unassigned)

Details

(Keywords: hang)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20131112160018

Steps to reproduce:

Setup:
index.html document with one second refresh to https site.
Load index.html document in Firefox.
Type keyboard shortcut for Save.
Save dialog opens.
One second later, Login/Password dialog box opens.

User is unable to:
Enter information in either dialog box
Click cancel in either dialog box
Click OK in either dialog box
Change focus to most recently opened dialog box
Quit application from menu or shortcut key.
Do anything, as effectively all input to Firefox is blocked or ignored.

Process must killed using OS control resources (Activity Monitor, Task Manager, etc.)

This bug is platform agnostic and has been tested and verified to exist on MacOSX and Windows 7, and in Firefox 24 and 25.

Actual results:

Noted above.

Expected results:

Focus should be changeable to either dialog to complete the requested action. As the user may want to save the first document, the focus from the login/password dialog should be ignorable to allow the user to save the already opened and displayed document.

Could you attach a testcase, please?

There is such a report for Mac OS X: bug 476541; it has many Mac OS X duplicates, and one Linux duplicate: bug 485398.
pretty sure that this is a dupe of bug 476541
