User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20140319 Firefox/24.0 Iceweasel/24.4.0 (Nightly/Aurora)
Build ID: 20140319090433
Steps to reproduce:
I upgraded to thunderbird version 24 as per the ESR release cycle.
Actual results:
Accounts were reordered. All mail accounts on top one after another, with blogs and newsfeeds at the bottom.
Expected results:
It should've kept the ordering that it had previously done which was based upon how old the account was or the option to reorder them back to the default if you _really_ think it's a good idea to do this crazy thing.
P.S. the reason why it doesn't look like complete **** is that I had to use the workaround via the bug lists, which is putting this in userchrome.css
#folderTree, #listPaneBox {
background-image: none !important;
}
As you can see here is the _new_ way it loks with mail on the top and rss feeds at the bottom instead of doing it bsed upon the age of the account which annoys me to no end.
The new ordering was done intentionally in bug 749200 to have a defined sort order. If TB ordered accounts for you in date creation order, that was pure luck and undefined behaviour. Sorry about that.
You may want to watch bug 244347. Depends on whether that bug implements user ordering inside account types or globally among all types, this bug is either dependent on it or a duplicate.
