Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20010913 BuildID: 2001091303 With the Quick Launch feature running, and with no open browser windows, it can take several seconds to open a new browser window. I have the home page set to start with a blank page, so it shouldn't be a network issue, and I've tried this on two fast machines (a 1 Gz Athlon and a dual PIII-950, both with 256 mb RAM). Both machines take about 9-10 seconds to launch a new browser window. This is much slower than before. In version 0.9.3, the browser window would open immediately, without delay. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set Mozilla's home page to blank. 2. Start the Quick Launch feature. 3. Make sure all Mozilla windows are closed - only the Mozilla Quick Launch icon should be showing in the taskbar. 4. Double click on the icon, or go to the Start menu and select Mozilla to launch Mozilla. Actual Results: It takes several seconds for the browser window to become visible. This is much slower than in version 0.9.3. Expected Results: The window should be displayed immediately.
This is due to changes to -turbo to make it work better on multi-profile system. The performance decrease has a patch that's being tested.... It has reviews and is about to get checked in and field-tested. Hopefully things should be much happier in 0.9.5.
